JAZZ SUDBURY ANNOUNCES VIRTUAL CONCERT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL ARTS CENTRE
Jazz Sudbury is excited to announce the first concert in their virtual series Internet Jazz Cafe.
In partnership with the National Arts Centre’s #RoadtoCanadaDay and #CanadaPerforms, Jazz Sudbury is proud to present local funk band Jellycap. Broadcasting live and 6’ apart from the stage at Sudbury Theatre Centre, Jellycap is guaranteed to get people dancing in their living room, backyard, or wherever they choose to view from.
The concert will be broadcast live from the Facebook and Youtube pages of Jazz Sudbury (@jazzsudbury), and from the Facebook page of National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts (@CanadasNAC.CNAduCanada), on Monday, June 29 at 7 pm EST.
The 5-piece band delighted at the Jazz in the Park event at the 2019 Jazz Sudbury Festival and would have joined the line-up again in 2020. The band is made up of local musicians:
John MacDonald – Bass
Kelly Perras – Vocals
Sean Perras – Drums
Andre Plante – Guitar
Zach Weil – Keys
“We knew we had to work towards a virtual series when we had to cancel our 2020 Festival. It was important to us that we figured out ways to engage and create opportunities for our community of musicians, as well as support the live music venues and technicians that play a key role in the incredible culture of live music that Sudbury boasts. We wish to thank Facebook Canada and National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts for their support with our first virtual event.” says Festival Director Katherine Smith.
